We have finally reached the start of my Life Story.Well,i have included the parts which they have revealed to me,and those that i remember from my own memory.
The year should have been 1986-1987.
Step Ng reminded me about this incident that happened when i was about 4-5 years old.I was staying at Blk 22,Chai Chee St at that time.Since both my parents were working, they left me in the care of my Godmother who stayed in the same block.During the day,i attended the PAP Foundation Kindergarden/Childcare Centre at Blk 61,Chai Chee Ave.
One day,we were all in class when 2 young girls came in and spoke to the teacher. Our teacher was visibly agitated as she declared,"Yes,i've heard that they were going to pick someone to play a role but i didn't expect it to be my class. How can you expect me to pick one of them?"The girls appeared to be flustered and kept looking us over. Finally, they declared to the teacher that they couldn't decide on anybody also. The teacher beckoned me over and said that they were looking for someone to play a role, and that somebody in our class had to perform such a role or the whole class would be in trouble. She sat me down and told me,"No matter who i send,he will be crushed.Since you "volunteered",i hope that you will be able to rebuild."
Being a child at the time,i simply nodded my head and agreed to perform this role. The teacher then got the whole class together and informed us that we were supposed be put on a show for a VIP.She coached us all on what to say and do when The Old Man In Blue showed up.
When The Old Man In Blue showed up,the entire class performed as we were instructed to.Based on what i remember, the production was "The Coronation",wherby the class chose to support me as The King instead of The Old Man.The Old Man was livid with anger as he fired a barrage of questions at me,wherby all the answers i gave was prompted by my kindergarden teacher.
Before The Old Man left,he declared that he was going to put me into the lift shaft for 10 years.Thereafter,1 of the 2 young girls turned to me and said,"We have done something really bad to you today by asking you to perform this role.Who asked you to be so stupid as to volunteer!?"
I just stared at her.Did i volunteer!?
